Dr. Tonya J. Nalls, Founder
Dr. Tonya J. Nalls is a passionate author, speaker, and advocate for personal transformation through faith, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in special education administration and teaching across both general and special education environments. Before her retirement in July 2022, she served as the Director of Special Education for the Special School District of St. Louis County, where she coordinated and oversaw Special Education Programs in partnership with various districts. In this pivotal role, Dr. Nalls was responsible for providing district-wide professional development and training while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations governing students with disabilities. She played a key role in collaborating with district leaders to eliminate barriers to general education, supporting all students in achieving high levels of success.
In addition to her administrative expertise, Dr. Nalls has significant classroom experience, having taught students in grades 3-12 with diverse ability levels. She worked closely with community agencies to develop programs aimed at preparing students to become productive members of society while fostering 21st Century Skills. Her commitment to goal-setting and positive learning outcomes was evident in her partnerships with parents and students alike.
As the Founder of Just Be Books & More, LLC, Dr. Nalls continues to leverage her rich background to coordinate services and support that enhance outcomes for students, families, staff, and the community. Her mission is to empower aspiring authors and businesses by providing comprehensive writing, publishing, and marketing services.
